SaskTel International (SI) provided technicians to perform upgrades to Satelite Radio Frequency equipment at Northwestel’s central and remote offices. Technicians installed satellite equipment and performed upgrades to the facilities throughout Northern Canada. The work took place in 5 rural communities throughout the North West Territories and Nunavut, including: Inuvik, Tsiigehtchic, Ft. MacPherson, Kugluktuk and Gjoa Haven.
The project was unique as all of the work sites were in the Arctic, which were in a period of little or no daylight during the time of project.
Temperatures were in the -40 C range and blizzards complicated and restricted travel.
